OUR STORY

Vision for Cultural Sovereignty

Maasai Voices Consulting was founded by Stephen Muntet, a Maasai scholar and PhD candidate in Indigenous Studies, driven by a deep commitment to protect the Maa language and Maasai cultural knowledge. Our mission is to bridge community wisdom with universities and institutions, creating a space where traditional knowledge is respected and preserved. We support ethical, community-led research and digital archiving to ensure the Maasai story is told accurately and honorably for generations to come.

Indigenous Sovereignty

We honor Indigenous sovereignty and respect the deep wisdom held within the community. Our approach ensures that all cultural knowledge is handled with the care it deserves.

Our Values & Approach

Reciprocity & Trust

We believe in reciprocity and building long-term, fair partnerships. We move beyond transactional data collection to create meaningful, lasting relationships based on mutual benefit.

Community Guidance

All work is rooted in a slow, listening-first approach. We operate under community guidance, using clear agreements to ensure stories and data are gathered ethically and responsibly.
